Phoenix - 1901

Phoenix have been the acceptable face of French rock for a decade now, but them seem to be making a real push for mainstream success in the US with this latest record, "Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix". This track in particular is a delightful poppy synthy sort of a thing. Highly catchy and the if they weren't French I'd be inclined to think throwing out words like "elliptical" was a sign of pretension but it all seems hang together here in a most enjoyable fashion.

I will stop at some point commenting on every post you make I'm sure. But I wanted to comment on this one. I am hungover today. I wondered if you had made a post even though it was Saturday. I typed 'songo' into my address bar and this page came up as the first entry. Firefox is clever. Maybe 'clever' is not the right word. It is more that the algorithms it uses to chart how often one visits certain sites work efficiently. Firefox is efficient. I saw that you had posted a new song. I felt excited. I felt glad that you are keeping to a regular schedule of posting. I don't want to make you feel like you have to post every day. But it is good that you have done so thus far. I hope you continue on this regular ish basis. I was a bit apprehensive about listening to Phoenix. But I think the good thing about this blog is that it doesn't take long to listen to one song. I trust your taste. I listened to the song. I enjoyed it. I am a bit hungover today. I am putting my thoughts in this box without mediation. I'm not sure if without mediation is the right thing to say. I hope you don't mind me typing so much. I look forward to your next post.

On the contrary, I'm going to have to insist you comment on every single post, If only so it feels slightly less like talking into the void. My plan is to put up a post every day for a year, which as blogger lets me schedule posts in the future shouldn't be too hard even If I'm away. Reflecting on that, 365 songs is a hell of a lot but I reckon I've got that many in me. Probably. Ideally I'd like not to use the same artist more than once, but I'll may revise that.
